Frequent tasks and frequently asked questions for managing your gas account

Account management

  • Start service: Visit Start service and either sign in or continue as guest. Follow the prompts and enter the information requested.  
    Select the day and time you want your service to start.  
    Verify your information and submit your order.  
    Create a My Account log in and password for easy access to manage your account online.
  • Stop service: Log into My Account, select Schedule Service across the top navigation header, select start, stop, or move from the drop down options. 
    Select Stop Service and provide your current account details, including service address, the date you’d like us to stop your service, and the address where you’d like us to send your final bill.
  • Transfer service: Log into My Account, select Schedule Service across the top navigation header, select start, stop, or move from the drop down options.  
    Select Transfer Service and provide your current account details, including service address, and the date and address where you’d like us to transfer your service.
  • Reconnecting service: Visit Reconnect to request an appointment to reconnect your service. You’ll need the name of account holder and the address where you want to start gas service. Select an appointment date. 
    If your gas was disconnected for non-payment, you'll have to make an initial deposit and possibly a reconnect fee or pay the final bill if there is a balance due before we can restore service to your home or business. You can pay these balances online – simply log into My Account.

Billing

  • Pay my bill: Pay online quickly and easily with a debit card, credit card or bank account. Log in to MyAccount >
  • Log into My Account and click the orange "Pay my bill" button. Select your payment method and click pay. You will see a payment confirmation page and will receive an email notification letting you know you've paid your bill. Log in to MyAccount >
  • Pay as a guest: Pay online with a debit card, credit card or bank account without logging in. Pay as a guest >
  • How to pay as a guest: Enter your account number and your mailing zip code. Click Continue. Enter the amount due and your payment information. Click confirm payment. The next screen will show a confirmation of your payment to your account. You can print this page for your records.
  • Manage payment methods: Save and manage debit and credit cards or bank accounts you'll use to pay your bill. Log in to MyAccount >
    After you log in, click on the Payments header across the top. Select "Manage payment methods" from the drop down. Add, modify or remove your payment methods. When finished, click Save.

Updating your preferences

  • Enrolling in Auto Pay: After signing into My Account, select “Options”, then “Auto Pay” in the top navigation menu. Select the saved payment method you'd like to use for your automatic payments or add a new payment method. Once you've read the terms and conditions, select "Confirm Auto Pay." Your confirmation number will be available on the screen and via email. Once you've read the terms and conditions, select "Confirm Auto Pay."   • Enrolling in Paperless Billing: Log into My Account. Select “Options”, then “Paperless Billing” in the top navigation menu. Select desired communication preference(s) for paperless billing notifications: email, text or both. Update contact information and click “Save”.
  • Managing your username and password: Log into My Account. Select “My Account”, then “Profile & settings” in the top navigation menu. Choose either to change your username or password by selecting the desired option. Enter the required information and click “Update”.
  • Enrolling in Budget Billing: After signing into My Account, select Options, then Budget Billing in the top navigation menu. Make sure you have a zero balance. Review your monthly budget amount and select “Enroll”.
  • Donating to DollarHelp: To donate simply enroll online at MyAccount.SpireEnergy.com. Select "DollarHelp" from the "Options" menu.

Issues/safety concerns

  • If you smell gas: To report a gas leak or suspected natural gas leak, outage or other natural gas emergency, leave the area immediately and dial Spire or 911 when you're safe. We’re available 24/7. Call us >
